Here’s a piece of Canadian heavy metal history that deserves serious consideration from any collector focused on the Great White North’s contribution to the genre. Helix’s “No Rest For The Wicked” represents the band at their creative and commercial peak, featuring the anthemic “Heavy Metal Love” that became their signature track and helped define the sound of early 80s Canadian metal. This was the album that truly established Brian Vollmer and company as legitimate contenders in the burgeoning metal scene, bridging the gap between the NWOBHM movement and the emerging North American sound that would dominate the decade.
