More Loving On The Flipside (LP)

A soulful companion to the heavy funk compilations of the past, Loving On The Flip Side uncovers a different kind of groovetender, slow-burning soul ballads hidden on the B-sides of hard-hitting funk 45s. Originally released over a decade ago, this anthology gathers rare and deeply emotional tracks recorded between 1969 and 1977, highlighting a quieter but equally powerful side of the soul underground.

In the early days of deep funk collecting, DJs and crate diggers sought out raw, aggressive grooves to set dance floors alight. But as they flipped those records over, they began to discover something unexpected: breathtaking love songs, often overshadowed by their A-side counterparts, yet crafted with just as much careand in some cases, even more soul.

Loving On The Flip Side shines a light on these overlooked gems, where artists like The Third Guitar (Baby Dont Cry), El Pooks (I Could Do the Impossible), and Spider Harrison (Beautiful Day) delivered heartache, hope, and vulnerability with remarkable authenticity. Its a collection that redefines the soul canon, proving that the flip side sometimes held the deepest truths of all.
